If you are planing to go, bring your boots and gear for inspection at our Troop Meeting on April 21st.

Meet at Germonds Church at 8am for the drive to Bear Mountain parking lot, PIP North to the Bear Mountain Circle, onto 9W South to the Bear Mountain Inn.

The hike will start at the Bear Mountain parking lot and go around the base of the Bear Mountain and end back at the starting parking lot in Bear Mountain. We will be hiking on several trails, including the Appalachian Trail, the 1777 and 1779 trails (from the Revolutionary War) and the Popolopen Gorge Trail.

The trails will take us through abandoned Doodletown, past the historic Bear Mountain Inn, through the Trailside Zoo, under the Bear Mountain Bridge and into Fort Montgomery Historic Site – just to name a few locations!

For those not hiking and that do not want to pay the parking fee, drop your scout off at the parking lot fee booth.

All hikers must wear hiking boots. Bring a lunch, high energy snacks (NO nuts) and two quarts of water.

Eat a good breakfast before leaving home!
