On Saturday, November 18, 2023, Ross Thomas sat for his Final Eagle Board and was awarded the rank of Eagle Scout! He was escorted by his project coach, Mr. Gonzalez.
Ross spoke about his project where he created an outdoor classroom in the courtyard of Margetts Elementary School. He confidently led friends, family, and scouts in cleaning up the area, building benches and planters, and painting a mural. Ross clearly detailed his progress from selecting his project, to planning and execution. He recalled the ways in which he demonstrated leadership to fellow scouts, school
staff, and the beneficiary. Ross shared stories about summer camp, troop campouts at Bullowa, and his recent scuba adventure at Sea Base. Ross spoke about his leadership positions, recalled the challenges he faced, and the growth he experienced as a Patrol Leader. He recounted learning how to build connections with other scouts, developing his communication skills, and taking on higher responsibilities. Ross impressed members of the board with his kind, respectful, and thoughtful responses. Ross says he always had fun in Scouts, and learned patience, innovation, and how to not give up.
Please join me in congratulating Ross for achieving this milestone!
